The Climate Action Museum Hero Awards honor individuals, businesses, and organizations making a meaningful impact in climate action. By recognizing outstanding efforts, we aim to inspire others to follow their lead in sustainability, education, advocacy, and innovation.

How to Nominate

Step 1:

Review the award categories below and choose the one that best fits your nominee.

Step 2:

Complete the nomination form with details about your nominee’s achievements.

Step 3:

Submit your nomination by MARCH 21, 2025.

Award Categories

Nominate a climate leader in one of the categories below:

🌱 Authentic Advocate

An individual that has gone above and beyond, in their personal actions towards the CAM mission. 

🎓 Education

Any educational institution that has created or promoted specific programs or projects towards CAM’s mission.

🏛️ Government

Municipal, county, and state governments or governmental agencies initiating programs or projects forwarding CAM’s mission.

🏢 Business

Any business including but not limited to construction, development, retail, commercial, and professional entities going above and beyond in forwarding CAM’s mission.

⚖️ Environmental Justice

Any organization incorporating the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.

🔬 Green Tech

Any organization to develop new technology or new ways of using existing technology to further the mission of CAM.

📜 Legislative Champion

An individual legislat or at any governmental level taking initiative to develop and introduce legislation promoting CAM’s mission. 

🎭 Arts & Entertainment

An individual in the field of arts and entertainment using their talent and creativity to promote the mission of CAM. 

🏅Best in the Midwest

This award will recognize innovative Midwestern decarbonization practices not yet adopted in Chicago or Illinois.

Nomination Guidelines

Nominations must highlight specific achievements that align with CAM’s mission.

Self-nominations are welcome. You can also nominate individuals or organizations outside of your own.

Winners will be selected based on impact, innovation, and alignment with CAM’s mission.

Submission Deadline is March 21, 2025 @ 11:59pm
